Birth Pool
Immersion in water provides comfort for some women in labour. The use of a pool in your own home is an option available to Nikau clients.
The pool is assembled in your home according to supplied, easy-to-follow instructions. The pool is lined during each use with a disposable, non-reusable, clear plastic liner. Once filled with water there is an immersion heater to further warm the pool water. The heater is removed and no longer used once you enter the pool.
Ask your midwife in the antenatal time for further information if you are interested in this option.
